Volkswagen Auto-Sleeper T25 / T3 VX50 Camper Model History
Circa 1983 Auto-Sleepers introduced the T25 / T3 Volkswagen Autosleeper VX50 Camper. It had an elevating pop top roof with rigid sides. The interior specification was similar to the hightop version known as the Autosleeper VHT. The interior had cupboards along the side behind the drivers seat and the rear seat converted into a 3/4 width double bed. The Autosleeper VX50 had a higher specification than the Autosleeper VT20 poptop model (although the different interior layout of the VT20 featured a full width double bed). The engine options used the newly released water cooled boxer engine.

7) Volkswagen T25 / T3 Autosleeper Side Stripes and Logos
There was normally a small burgundy AS logo on the front of the vehicle and a white AS logo on the side rear quarters on top of the thick coloured stripe. Also there were burgundy Auto-sleeper logos on the driver and passenger doors.
The coachline stripes on the side were painted on and the colour varied for different years. The majority of earlier Autosleeper VX50’s had a blue stripe (Paint Code VW LP5Z Orly Blue) although occasionally other colours were used including green (Paint Code Jaguar Racing Green Met HDN) and brown (Paint Code Talbot Deep Mango YW). Later Autosleeper VX50’s sometimes had burgundy stripes (Paint Code British Leyland Damson Red BLVC 211).
The main thick painted stripes were then decorated using stick on coloured pinstripes. The pinstripes above & below the thick stripe were dual 3/6mm gold stripes (possibly orange when main stripe was brown?) and there was also a 6mm white pinstripe down the centre.
